Building inside Rockwell Center catches fire

AT APPROXIMATELY 2:00PM of 27 October 2014, the ongoing construction site of the Lopez Tower and Museum located between the Ateneo Professional Schools and One Rockwell West Tower caught fire.

An eyewitness said that the incident started in the basement three of the building, when the paint cans stored inside caught fire while the construction workers were welding. The Rockwell guards acted quickly and were able to block off the area right away.

As of 3:15PM, the last few people who were trapped inside the building had already escaped. There is still no word about the number of injured people or casualties. As of this writing, the Makati City firefighters still cannot enter the basement because of the intense smoke and heat.

The fire has caused standstill traffic in all routes going inside Rockwell. P
