Tuesday, 9 June, 2015, 1:00pm – 4:00pm
House Minority Conference Room, North Wing Basement, House of Representatives
ABOUT THE EVENT
The Law and Policy Debate: an inter-university dialogue is an interactive exhibition debate which features the best and brightest student debaters from the Ateneo de Manila University Law School and the University of Sto. Tomas Law School.
This event will be held on Tuesday, 9 June 2015 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm in the House Minority Conference Room, North Wing Basement at the House of Representatives in the Batasang Pambansa Complex, Quezon City.
The two debate teams will argue the motion: let it be resolved that medical marijuana should be legalized in the Philippines (House Bill No. 4477).
This event, which will be attended by members of the law school community, the academe, civil society groups, members of Congress and their staff, serves to generate discourse and create awareness regarding important national issues and legislative measures pending in Congress, particularly in relation to medical cannabis, as detailed in House Bill No. 4477, or “The Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Act”.
This event has been organized by the Teehankee Center for the Rule of Law and Ateneo’s St. Thomas More Debate and Advocacy Society, in partnership with the Office of Hon. Rodolfo T. Albano III (First District, Isabela) and the Office of Hon. Leah S. Paquiz (ANG NARS Partylist).
