What do you think is the main problem that the law school community is facing now and how would you address it?
I do not think that there is a problem, really. I believe that each student has his or her own personal concerns, which deserve to be heard and communicated to the appropriate offices. That is why I propose that there be a regular meeting (over coffee and snacks) for students to voice out personal opinions and grievances. This will be called the “potluck and drop it” session.
What is one idea that you would like the student council to implement next year?
One possible project I would like the student council to implement is to make a database of internship and job opportunities for the students. I do not think that in having the law firms and corporations come to school for just a week that the students will be able to really weigh their career options. The said database must be stable, consistent, and ONLINE.
How will your projects adjust to next school year’s calendar shift?
I actually think the 4 month break is a great thing. It gives us the opportunity to start:
(1) developing the samplex database;
(2) creating job and internship database; and,
(3) meeting with the beadles to agree on a information dissemination process.
Hopefully, if elected second year batch representative, said plans will not only enhance students’ academic performance, but also expand their horizons.
